This is an ayam penyet (Indonesian smashed chicken) restaurant. In the early years when we first visited Batam it was our favourite restaurant and we would visit every time. But now with Grand Batam Mall opening and so many other food options, it isn't our priority anymore but the food is still good. They also sell chendol with an array of different toppings.
There is an outlet at Megamall across the road from Batam Centre Ferry Terminal and we like to dabao ayam penyet back to Singapore for our dinner from this outlet. Eating at the Megamall outlet is actually quite uncomfortable as the restaurant is very hot (like never on the air con). The last round we went, it was a weekday and anything that is not penyet (whether chicken, duck or fish) were all not available. Feels like the staff 偷懒 and don't want to cook so much food. So I don't recommend eating at the Megamall outlet, go to BCS or Nagoya instead.
- Ayam penyet (smashed chicken - 20K) and ayam bakar madu 25K. Rice is charged separately at 8K. Prices are from Sep 2022 before tax.
- Bebek penyet (smashed duck) - not being biased here as a duck lover but this is not nice and very dry. It does not do justice to the death of the duck. Stick to the ayam penyet instead.
- Chicken satay - 27K before tax (Mar 2023 price)
- Tahu telur (egg tofu). Love this. Picture to come later.
- Chendol with rainbow jelly (20K before tax, Mar 2024 price)
