Entertainment - Karaoke

There used to be a karaoke joint at the top level of BCS Mall but covid killed it. Now the nearest karaoke is a Gojek ride away (no more than 25K fare) next to Nagoya Mall.

Name of Karaoke: Inul Vizta Nagoya Hill
Address: Komplek Nagoya Hill Superblok Blok R3H No. 12A-16B, Jl. Teuku Umar, Lubuk Baja Kota, Kec. Lubuk Baja, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau 29444, Indonesia
Website: https://inulviztabatam.co.id/

Usually we input Nagoya Mall into the app for Gojek and then walk over.

Packages or "Paket"

Here are the ala carte charges. Before 6pm is cheaper. Monday to Friday is cheaper. Best is Monday to Friday and before 6pm. 37.5K per hour for the small room (before tax). WHERE TO FIND!!!!!

Sometimes they may have packages or "paket" that includes food and singing. We tried the food for the first time during Ramadan with their Ramadan paket. Like 99K per person with all that food and 2 hours of singing. Nett price some more.

For all the times that we sang here, we never tried the food or ate anything in the karaoke rooms. But this one time we did, all the 小强 came to 请安 with us. They weren't big, they were the teenager size but OMG. #DontThinkSoMuch. Maybe better to eat elsewhere and not in the karaoke room.

There are different packages each time we go, but if you heed our advice and choose not to eat in the rooms, then maybe just take the ala carte singing. However sometimes the packages are cheaper with the food rather than ala carte pricing (especially after 6pm) so it's something to consider.

Karaoke System
Not sure how the systems in Singapore are like, but they have the main screen for singing and a small screen below and at the side for your friends to choose the next song.

The process of choosing songs is a pain cos it's very hard to search, at least for Chinese songs. Your hanyu pinyin must be top notch and you must have a ready song list in your head to search. You can either use the touch screen or this humongous remote control which may or may not have all the words still printed on the buttons. (I prefer the touch screen). But then at less than $5 per hour per room, I'm not complaining.

There are also microphone covers provided so it's hygienic.

Ash trays are provided in the room for smokers. But because we usually go in the day time we don't smell any smoke in the rooms.

After your karaoke session you can shop around at Nagoya Mall which is like a BCS Mall. The old style type of shopping centre with many little shops selling things that you don't really want to buy. And like BCS, we usually only go to the food outlets and the supermarket (which is a hypermarket called "Hypermart", same as Mega Mall). Oh ya this Hypermart charges for plastic bags so BYOB. There are also some nail salons at the top floor near the cinema. If you have no time for Nagoya Mall, no worries cos almost every single shop in here is replicated either in BCS or Grand Batam Mall.

Taking the Gojek back: Nagoya Mall has many entrances and we haven't figured out which one to choose on the Gojek (cos' it's in Bahasa and we don't understand). We chose the wrong one over two instances and got a very annoyed driver. The only one we can recognise is the one outside the karaoke itself which has the words "Inul Vizta", so we choose that one for pick up to go back to our hotel/BCS/GBM.

There seems to be a new karaoke near Batam Centre Ferry Terminal. We saw this poster advertisement at the Harbourfront Ferry Terminal. If anyone does go, please feedback if it's good.
